Today I hiked the peak of Kitanomine and Furano Ski Zones to see for what the summer terrain is like. To my surprise, they have nocked down the top "Dai 3" single chair lift, and it is to be replaced by a double chair for this coming season. The photos pretty much speak for themselves. The mountain is thick in bamboo in all area except ski runs. Enjoy.

Who would have thought there was a 2m high set of stairs off the top of the Ropeway. This is the single chairlift line. All towers have been removed.

The only remains of the top "Dai 3" chairlfit. Looking up towards the Dai 3 chair area.

Where the single chair lift use to load from. To be replaced by a double chair.

Looking from the peak down into the Link Lift Valley.

From the peak looking across to Kitanomine Gondola Station

The top of the single chair, with Nishi Dake in the background. Sunset looking west towards Sapporo.

To my amazement, and pure good timing, when coming back down the ropeway it was the beginning of the Luna Eclipse. Very hard to photograph, but here are some images of the orange moon. We had perfect clear skies for the entire eclipse.
