The famous scenery of Biei and Nakafurano is special. These shots capture just some of the beatuy and uniqueness of the contryside.

I couldn't resist. These little cars are for the elderly, but they're so ridiculously small.

In winter, this is the Nakafurano ski hill; very small and almost insignificant. In summer, it's a distinguishing feature of the town, and its bright colours can be seen from far away.

Getting on and off a chair lift is much easier with skis on.

At the top of this photo, is the word Nakafurano (なかふらの) written in yellow flowers. Good old Bestom discount mega supermarket.

Can you see Mr Bee in this sunflower?

Ok, so all the sunflowers are facing the same direction, toward the Tokachidake mountain range. Now this is due east. I'm pretty sure the sun sets in the west guys. Why aren't you facing west? Does anyone have an explaination for this? Explain it

The rolling hills of Biei. This is the location for some of the postacard pics we see for Furano.
