After 2 weeks of epic snow early March, Furano offered some of the best riding of the season to our guests over the last 2 weeks. The snow is still falling in nearby Asahidake and also Sonkyou. I took a trip to these resorts and to my surprise, the snow was the best of the season; extremely dry, and deep. The steeps of Kurodake and Asahidake are truly memorable. Agreed it's not a commercial ski hill, as you have to hike for most of the lines in the images below....but this is central Hokkaido....enjoy.
